North Down senior teams made a good start on Saturday at Barnetts Park in the Bobby Rae Races which were the opening event in the new ANI Cross Country League. Annadale took maximum points ahead of North Belfast and the North Down men finishing 3rd. Niall Robinson in 8th, Francis Marsh in 19th, James Budde 18th and Michael Dyer in 23rd were the scoring quartet with valuable extras coming from Mark Weir and John McGarvey in 35th and 80th. This was easily trumped by the girls who were clear winners of the womens race from Lisburn and Dromore. Jessica Craig was 3rd, Roberta Dornan 6th and Stephanie Hambling 7th took the honours, backed up by Ange Perrott 15th and Rachel Gibson 16th. M60 and above men ran with the women, Terry Eakin being a clear winner and Fred Murdock 6th.
