The first race to feature in 2012 took place on Monday, 2nd Jan from Glenariff Forest Park over 5½ miles of very hilly terrain. James McIlroy in 33:17 min won the Race Over The Glens from 276 finishers who included 4 North Down runners. Les Wilkinson was 29th in 39:49 min, Gary Swenarton 84th in 45:19, Nick Irvine 101st in 47:11 and Norman Lellyett 140th in 50:02. It was agood effort by the North Down veterans with Les 1st M55, Gary 2nd M60 and Norman 1st M65.
