Lauren Scott had a big run for Birchfield Harriers A team on Saturday at Sutton Park in the Midland Counties 6-stage Road Relay Championships on Saturday. Laurn’s time of 16:43 minutes was the fastest in the opening leg and ultimately the 2nd fastest on the day. Lauren gave Birchfied a 40 second lead in leg 1, a position they held until the final leg. Lucy Richen of Westbury Harriers overtook the Birchfield runner to win it at the end and leave Lauren’s team in second place. The fastest time of all came in the 3rd leg from Annabelle Gummow of the 3rd placed Bistol and West club in 15:50 min. run that brought her team from 10th to 3rd.
In the Southern Counties 12-stage Relay Championships, also on Saturday, Michael Dyer and Jordan Stokes both featured in the 10th placed Herne Hill Harriers team. Michael ran the 2nd leg (first short leg) in 16:15 min, marginally trumped by Jordan in leg 4, running the same distance in 16:14 min. Michael lifted the team from 16th to 15th and Jordan from 15th to 14th.
