The Irish Mountain Running Association staged their European trials on Sunday in Munster. Rio Catney had her first outing at the discipline and did her claims to representative honours no harm at all with a 4th place finish. The severity of the elevation – approaching 1400 feet, the muck, fog and equally severe downhill sections made the recent cross country courses seem like a walk in the park.
