Dromore Cross Country

[Not a valid template]North Down failed to retain the Team Title in the Mens Open Race at Dromore, finishing 2nd to a strong Newcastle team. Deon McNeilly opted for the Open race instead of the Vets and along with Alan McKibbin this gave Newcastle 1st and 2nd. James Budde was in the leading group of three until the penultimate lap and finished 3rd.

Jordan Neill and Jamie Stewart had good runs for 6th and 7th with the final scoring place going to Kris Lockhart, home from Uni and in his first cross country since early schooldays. Kris won his battle with Ian Atkinson and Thomas Simmons.

In the Vets Race, George Bell had his usual good Dromore run and finished 3rd overall with Norman Lellyett 17th.  Our US guest, Gordy Haskett, on a short visit from San Diego, has trained with us and managed to fit in a hilly, muddy Cross Country race.

Kerry Iveston was 5th in the Female Open with Lynne Wilson 3rd in the Vets. Thomas Simpson was 4th in the U15 Boys Race.
