On Saturday the Mary Peters 50th Gold Anniversary Belfast International Meet took place at the Belfast MP track. There was a full range of run, jump and throw and some of our younger athletes took advantage of the age banded races.
Ryan Hamilton recorded a pb of 12:25 in the U15 boys 100M and was rewarded with a runner up spot. Carter Rolston and Bailey Duncan finished within a second of each other in the Flahavan’s Squad 1000M race, 3:22:81 and 3:23:34. Lucy Cheatley collected 3rd place in the U17 800M with a very respectable 2:28:14, one tenth of a second off a pb.
Rachel McCann managed a season best 25:55 in the ladies 200M which placed her 2ndwhich is where Eve Walsh – Dann also finished in the Ambulant 100M clocking 14:42. Rachel made it a pair of 2nd place finishes when 56:76 placed her runner up in the 400M.
In the ladies 1500M Rachel Gibson was timed at 4:40:31.
Calum Spain threw a pb 27:15M in the discus while Charlie Lawden managed 44:14M with the JT800 javelin. Both athletes winning the U20 awards.
