Glorious weather welcomed thousands of runners to this year’s event along the coast road from Larne and back.  North Down was well represented in the “Mass” race which started at 11am on Sunday while the elite race two hours earlier included Jessica Craig from the club.

Jessica recorded 1:16:45 amongst the top athletes which placed her 2nd Northern Irish female.

In the mass race Dale Murray finished well up in a pb time of 1:14:10, placing 15th and Ricky Jordan came in a minute later in 1:15:11 which was also a significant pb.  Ashley Dixon knocked 11 minutes off his previous best when he clocked 1:18:08 and the consistent Tadhg Ryan-Charleton recorded 1:19:14.

Steven Donegan was disappointed finishing in 1:25:33 which was a couple of minutes outside his prescribed time under the Dream Run project, but still a pb.  Andy Lowry managed 1:26:38 which was a pb after last years’ edition of this very race was adjudged to be short.  Fiona McQuillan was next in 1:29:06 which placed her 5th in her age group.

Nick Anderson 1:35:20 and Sarah Gibson, 1:36:50 three minute pb and 5th age category were next and shortly afterwards in 1:37:16 Aaron McAuley crossed the finish line.  Glynis Boyle was placed third in her age band when she recorded 1:48:30 and Paula Simpson takes the best pb award after taking sixteen minutes off her previous with 1:52:01.  Jill Connolly completed in 1:56:10 before Caroline Steele finished in 2:05:26.
