No surprises but Amy Foster won Girls Track “Athlete of the Match” and David Keys won Boys Field equivalent in the recent Round 1 of the Young Athletes League. Amy broke the U17 League 100m record with 12.4 secs and David was a clear winner in the U17 hammer with 42.55m as well as winning discus and 2nd in shot.
The Girls Field Award in Match 2 went to Georgina Brown of City of Derry in U17 Javelin and the Boys Track one went to Chris Quinn of Lagan Valley in the U17 400m hurdles.
The winners in Match 1 were Girls Track, Samantha Miskelly (Lisburn) U15 75m hurdles; Girls Field, Jenny Brown (Mid Ulster) with a record of 12.02m in U15 shot; Boys Track, Scott Hamilton (Regent House) U15 80m hurdles; Boys Field, Mark Devlin (Strabane) U13 javelin.
