The annual festival of road relays hosted by Victoria Park and Connswater AC attract huge interest, such that North Down submitted 11 teams throughout the 4 races with our star attraction being the Senior ladies team who came 2nd.
The ladies masters race kicked off proceedings at 12md and the remaining 3 races started at one hour intervals until the senior men at 3 O’clock. The A team completed in 9th spot, B Team 17th and the C team 20th of 25 teams.
Our ladies senior team of Erin McConnell, Rachel Gibson, Katie Moore and Mac Eager committed well to each leg of the relay and were rewarded with a 2ndplace finish. The B team finished in 13th place.
The senior men got underway at 3 o’clock precisely and while ND A were in 2ndplace after the first leg the team did well to finish in 8th overall in a high quality field. ND B finished in 13th while the C team recorded a 22nd place finish of 27 teams.
