On finding his planned parkrun in Edinburgh cancelled, North Down AC’s Cross Country and Endurance captain, Steven Donegan quickly made plans to race the Edinburgh Winter Warmer 5k in Holyrood Park instead. He certainly warmed up well against the wintry chills and hills of this beautiful park in Scotland’s capital as he raced hard to finish in 2nd place. The event also included a 10k race which started shortly before Steven’s 5k so he spent most of the first uphill mile weaving through hundreds of 10k runners ahead of him. The second mile brought more gradual uphills before the relief of finding that the 3rd mile was all downhill, recording a final mile split of 5:10 before an overall finish time of 18:37.
