On Saturday 4th February North Down AC’s Mark Carberry (representing Stirling University) finished a very creditable 98th out of 256 in the British University and Colleges Sport long/’A’ race cross country championship at Pembrey Country Park in South Wales. This is a very highly competitive event where only the top 6 runners from each university qualify to run the 10.5k course. A further 540 athletes who didn’t qualify for their uni’s A team run the short/‘B’ 8k race.
