One of the biggest cross country races of the season, the NI & Ulster Senior Cross Country Championships took place in winter sunshine at the Billy Neill playing fields on 26th February.
A strong contingent of 31 NDAC athletes took to the field in the men’s 12k and women’s 6k races. The top 4 scorers in the men’s race were Craig McMeechan (6th overall) in 39:07, Dale Murray in 41:59, Ashley Dixon 42:50 and Jamie McMeechan 43:17. The top 4 female scorers were Katie Moore (9th overall) in 27:43, Rachel Gibson 24:10, Fiona McQuillan 24:24 and Mackenzie Eager 25:24.
In the women’s race North Down’s A team finished 2nd while the B & C teams were 10th and 17th respectively. The male team finished 4th.
