At the Irish universities cross country championships in Limerick, on Saturday 4th March Tara McDonough placed 55th for UCD in the 6k women’s race. In the men’s 8k race, Cameron Jenkins finished in 96th place for QUB in 34:25. Tara and Cameron helped their universities to 2nd and 7th place respectively. The race even included straw bale obstacles to add an extra challenge to an already tough XC course! North Down’s XC athletes breathed a sigh of relief that our own local XC season is over in case bales become a regular XC feature!
