While most runners were recovering from St Patrick’s weekend festivities and an Irish Grand Slam on Six Nations’ Super Saturday, Seán Nickel and Jill Connolly were charging their head torches and packing trail shoes for the We Run Wild NI Midnight Marathon and Half Marathon. The races started from Carrickfergus Castle at midnight and took place mostly on trails muddied by recent rain in the hills above the town. Seán finished 2nd in the marathon in 4:29:05 while Jill was 2nd female and 4th overall in the half in 2:22:36.
