First run in 1924 as the “Great Harrier Race” this fast and undulating 3 lap course around Whitehead is the oldest road race in Northern Ireland and always draws a speedy field of runners on Easter Monday eager to burn off any extra Easter Egg calories! North Down was well represented with Stuart Anderson the first club runner to finish in 34:11, just 4 seconds ahead of Sarah Gibson who claimed the first F50 prize. This race completed an exceptional 3 days of running for Sarah, competing in a half marathon, 10k and 5 mile race and being awarded prizes at the latter two! Lindsay Doulton joined the prize winners as first F40 in 34:48. Lisa Tomalin 36:23, Denis Stewart 39:57 and Cara Jeffrey 42:23 all had excellent runs too.
