North Down athlete Mark Carberry representing Stirling University came within a whisker of taking the Scottish University 800m title at Grangemouth on Saturday 22nd April. Mark eased through his qualifying 800m heat to win a tactical race. In the final, Mark judged his early effort and moved up the placings over the last lap almost catching the winner over the line, Mark’s reward was a silver medal and a 2 second PB of 1:55.01 which is the fastest time by a North Down athlete since 2017.
