North Down AC runners had a successful evening at the annual Greyabbey “Round the Springs” 5k and 10k race on Friday 7th July. 5k runners raced one lap of the undulating 5k course starting and finishing outside Greyabbey Village Hall while 10k runners got to experience the hills once more on their second lap! The first NDAC runner to finish the 5k was Steven Donegan in 17:29 and 5th place overall. Sarah Connolly finished in 21:31 and was the first woman to finish while Lynne Kerr’s 26:03 saw her take first place in the F60 age group.
In the 10k Ricky Jordan 35:39 and Declan Magee 36:45 took 2nd and 3rd place respectively. David Massey also achieved a top 10 finish in 38:40. Sarah Gibson was 2nd woman and 1st F50 in 42:39 while Brian Geddis finished exactly 1 minute later as 1st M65. Andrew Muir 44:47 was the next NDAC finisher followed by Hollie Massey 48:18, John Ferguson 48:52 and Luke Hamilton Paula Simpson’s 49:12 saw her collect another age group prize as 1st F55.
