10 North Down AC athletes tackled wet and windy conditions at the Donaghadee 5k on Wednesday 26th July. The course looping the pier and the Commons offered little shelter from the unseasonal weather but it didn’t seem to slow the runners down too much, with several club members winning their age categories and Fiona McQuillan once again taking first lady honours! Fiona was the first club member to finish in 19:43 with Sarah Gibson claiming 1st W50 in 21:12. Andrew Muir was next to cross the line in 21:23 taking 1st M45. Ryan Lynas was 2nd U20M in 21:51 ahead of Steven Boyd 22:31 and Paul Lynas 23:29. Paula Simpson was 1st W50 in 23:50 with Grace Foord next to finish in 26:16. Glenn Frazer completed the course in 29:04 and Pat O’Driscoll was 2nd M75 as he brought North Down involvement to a conclusion.
