North Down AC had 4 runners in this year’s Giant’s Trail Race, a challenging 6 mile course starting at the QUB playing fields and passing along forest trails providing stunning views of the River Lagan before climbing through the woodlands of the Minnowburn, past sculptures and natural art formations to the Neolithic monument at the Giant’s Ring and returning via Edenderry village and Gilchrist Bridge to Shaw’s Bridge and the finish. First of the NDAC quartet back was Clair Quigley in 43:55. Clair also took the F40 prize. Colin Walker was next to finish as 3rd M45 in 43:22 with Andrew Muir 47:22 and Gerry O’Boyle 48:33 rounding off the club’s runners.
