North Down AC’s Charlie Lawden won a silver medal at the National Juvenile Championships in Tullamore, Co Offaly on Sunday 23rd July. His best throw of 49.72 secured second place in the U19 800g javelin. Oisin Joyce of Lake District Athletics set a new Championship Record of 69.43 to win the gold medal. The following week Charlie was back at the Morton Stadium in Santry for the senior national championships where despite tough throwing conditions as seen in the attached photo he secured 5th place with a best throw of 49.46m.
