5 North Down ladies made a Friday night trip to the North Coast for the Portrush 5 mile race on Friday 25th August. The route took runners along the West Promenade and up the Blackrock Hill where they ran out to a turnaround point on the road to Portstewart and returned the same way. First of the North Down runners to finish was Helen Byers in 35:54 claiming the F40 prize in the process. Heather Beattie was next to cross the line in 39:28 before Judith Gillespie 45:10 finished shortly ahead of Liesl Parker 45:24 with Helen Beattie rounding off NDAC involvement in 49:36.
