7 North Down club members were racing on an undulating 10k course starting and finishing at the Portaferry GAC on Sunday 10th September. The event was part of Abi’s Butterfly Breeze, remembering the life of Abi Rogers and raising funds for essential mental health counselling. First of the north Down finishers was Declan Magee in 6th place in 38:14. Sarah Gibson finished 3rd female and 2nd W50 in 42:26. Chair Quigley wasn’t far behind claiming 1st W40 in 42:59, only 1 second ahead of Aaron McAuley. Les Wilkinson was next to finish in 44:25 as 2nd M65 and Paula Simpson’s 49:29 ensured 2nd W55. Pat O’Driscoll wearing race number 1 also joined the North Down AC podium party taking 1st M75 spot in 1:08:02.
