We Run Wild NI’s marathons are well known for including hills and muddy trails in their events, and their low key “El Cheapo” marathon on Sunday 19th November lived up to the usual billing, Starting and finishing at Carrickfergus Castle runners climbed through Monkstown and Mossley before taking trails and lanes past Knockagh and Woodburn Forest, including more than 500m of ascent before returning to the Castle. North Down AC’s Seán Nickell led from start to finish in 3:49 while his club mate Donald Smith finished 3rd in 4:13.
