North Down AC’s youngest athletes were in superb form in the first events of the East Coast AC Junior XC Series at Larne High School on Sunday 4th February. Harrison Mair finished 2nd in the 1000m minor boys race in 4:21. More podium spots followed in the 1500m junior girls and boys events; Sophie Rankin won in 6:15 while Caitlyn Dickenson narrowly missed the podium finishing 4th in 6:41. It was a clean sweep for the 3 junior North Down boys competing; Carter Rolston 5:39 pipped Sebastian Mair 5:41 for the win while Isaac Hall 6:43 made it a 1,2 3 for the club!
In the mini boys race 4 year old Lochlainn Mair showed that his big brothers (and mum and dad) have upcoming competition as he ran his first race over 500m in 3:45!
