5 North Down AC mountain runners took part in the NI Mountain Running Association’s Ulster Championship Race on Saturday 9th March. The Ulster championship event started from the Glenariffe centre in Waterfoot and climbed nearly 400m up the Glen to a checkpoint before returning via the same steep descent to the finish almost 10k later where each runner collected a bag of spuds from race sponsors, Glens of Antrim Potatoes! David McKeague was the first man for the club to finish in 16th place in 49:19 followed by Mark Weir 55:24, Gareth Hardy 55:46, William Joey 1:12:55 and Trevor Patterson 1:24:42.
