Another event, another double and another record for Amy Foster. She equalled the Celtic International record in Carmarthen at U18 100m with 12.07 secs and won the 200m in 24.75 secs. Wales won the girls match, Scotland the boys and the overall match with Ulster girls 4th and boys 3rd. Ulster were last yet again but this time there were a lot of good performances to get excited about.
North Down athletes definitely did their stuff. Apart from Amy, Kiki Malomo-Paris was 2nd at U16 100m in 12.68 secs and Natasha Paxton was 2nd in the Invitational 100m in 12.78 secs. Hannah Lewis was 3rd at both long jump and 200m with 5.25m and 26.15 secs. Hannah, Kiki, Tasha were three of the U16 4 x 100m relay which was 2nd in 49.80 secs.
Kim Shaw was 4th at U18 300m in 42.16 and was also in both relays. The 4 x 300m team was 3rd in 2:47.64 and the 4 x 100m team, which also obviously included Amy was 3rd in 49.73 secs.
David Keys was 3rd in the U18 discus with 41.54m and 4th at hammer with 46.73m. Scott McCauley was 4th at U18 100m hurdles in 14.5 secs.
Several other good Ulster performances were not enough to take the team up the table but definitely good enough to give hope for the future.
