The Northern Ireland Team Trophy, incorporating the NI Relay Championships at 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m were held on Sunday at Antrim Stadium with the mens’ team again comprehensively retaining the Presidents Trophy and a depleted womens team finishing 3rd. The men were again able to tap into the club’s now large talent pool though the format enabled those that wished to expand their range of events. Decathlete Peter Glass featured in 4 events while apprentice decathlete Callum Graham did 5 plus 2 relays. Captain Kenny Elliott did 4 and a relay, Adam McComb did 2 and 2 relays and Matthew Stockton did 3 and a relay. The girls team was very small but did enough to manage 3rd place. They were helped by 2 good wins from Alex Catherwood in the high jump and by Roberta Dornan, back at last to her best in the 3000m.
The relay teams did well at the end with men taking both 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m titles. Callum Graham and Adam McComb featured in both along with Kenny Elliott and Matthew Stockton at 4 x 100m and with Gareth Lyness and John Saulters at 4 x 400m. The girls took bronze at 4 x 100m with a rare combination of high jumper Alex Catherwood, triple jumper Laura Saulters, thrower Emma Stockton and hurdler Clare Robinson.
