The 30th and probable final staging of the Ards 5 Mile Challenge took place on Friday evening with the 8 North Down athletes all from the Monday evening group. Andrew Muir, the fittest politician around, led the club contingent home in 34:33 min in his 2nd road race in 2 days. Jill Aicken and Sarah Benton were 2nd and 4th in the ladies race in 36:17 and 37:56.

In Saturday’s ParkRuns, Debbie Matchett was 2nd woman at Belfast Waterworks in 20:23 min. At Victoria Park, Tony Wall was 12th in 19:52 min with Sarah Benton, doubling up after Friday evening in the Ards 5 Mile Challenge was 8th woman in 24:03, Marie Devine was 24:30 while Steve Wise was doing mentoring duty.
