Junior and Vets Championships

Paddy Cassidy of Glaslough Harriers won the Junior Championship in Castle Park from the Abbey pair of Damien Thillaye du  Boullay and Paul Pollock with City of Derry retaining the team title – a remarkable feat given that the 2005 team was no longer eligible. The Veterans Championship, now extended to 4 miles, also went across the border to Pauric McKinney of Letterkenny from Alan McCullough of Willowfield and Kieran Carlin of Finn Valley. Finn Valley easily won the team title from North Belfast and Foyle  Valley.

[Not a valid template]Michael Dyer and James Budde were North Down”s highest scorers with Michael 11th in 35.19 and James 13th in 35.46 with Robin Brown putting in a good run with 27th in 37.48. The scoring six was completed by Ian Atkinson, 62nd in 41.17; James Agar, 69th in 42.27; and another youngster, Thomas Simpson with 72nd in 43.08. North Down were 5th team with City of Derry 94, North Belfast 100, Abbey 147, Omagh 222, North Down 254 and Letterkenny 256.

Tony Wall was our highest placed finisher in the Veterans Championship with 63rd in 27.17  closely followed by John Quiery who was 65th in 27.22. David Seaton was 82nd in 28.21, Marcus McAuley 84th in 28.27, Norman Lellyett 93rd in 29.10, Hugh Young 110th in 33.16, Roy Graham 112th in 33.27 and Pat O”Driscoll 114th in 35.18. David, Norman and Roy were 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the M60″s category and Hugh was 2nd in the M65″s.
