Decathlete Brendan McConville and his coach Claire Scarth departed for Australia this morning to finalise preparations for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne during March. Brendan and Claire will set up base in Western Australia to concentrate on training with a few local competitions thrown in. Brendan will then travel to Melbourne to link up with the rest of the Northern Ireland party in the Holding Camp and Games Village. There were good wishes aplenty at last nights AGM.
