The dozen athletes from North Down AC who competed in the Irish Schools Championships at a sun-drenched Tullamore brought back 6 golds, 2 silvers and 6 bronze medals plus 2 of each at 5th and 6th. Amy Foster again did the sprint double in 12.22 and 24.68, into a strong headwind, in the Senior Girls while Nicola Simpson and Alison Lavery were 5th and 6th at 800m and high jump.
Tasha Paxton won the Junior Girls 100m and was 3rd at 200m while Kathryn Colwell had a pb of 26.20 to win the 200m. In the Inter Girls Hannah Lewis won the long jump with 5.54m, adding 1 cm to her pb and club record, and was 3rd at 200m in 25.90. Katie Hewitt was 3rd at 300m hurdles with a pb of 45.82 and was 5th at 80m hurdles. Kim Shaw was 3rd at 300m and Kiki Malomo Paris was 5th at 100m..
For the Inter Boys David Keys had two pbs, winning discus with 45.94m and 2nd at hammer with 53.06m. In the Senior Boys Peter Glass was 2nd at javelin with a pb of 51.43m and 3rd at shot while Scott McCauley was 3rd at 110m hurdles with a pb of 15.94 secs and 6th at triple jump.
