The open race promoted by the vets association moved from Belmont to Ormeau Park attracting a healthy enough field but marred by marshalling problems. Tony Wall was first of the 8 North Down runners in 26th place in 33.55. The girls took the honours though with Lynne Kerr 1st F40 in 36.31 and Sarah Benton 2nd F35 while Ange Perrott in 36.50 was also well placed. Hugh Young was 2nd M60/65.
Tony, Pat McMullan and Kris were among those misdirected. Subsequent measurement with a Jones Wheel shows the "wrong" course to be 697m long.
