Jessica Craig proved to be the best of the North Down quartet that took part in the highly competitive annual Gerry Farnan cross country meet on Sunday at Phoenix Park Dublin, finishing a highly creditable 19th in the senior women’s race over 5k (in 17:52). Rachel Gibson continued her improved XC form with 38th in 18:43 with race winner Fionnula Britton storming around in 15:36 and 70s clear of her nearest rival. In the Men’s 8k, Niall Robinson made his return from injury with a solid 37th in 26:50 (although not yet at full fitness) while Michael Dyer made a rare appearance on this terrain to get some decent endurance work in with 49th in 27:26. Race winner was David McCarthy in 24:20.
