North Down finished 5th in Round 1 of the Young Athletes League at Antrim, a comfortable qualifying position though more athletes would be reqquired to make an impact in the Final particularly at U13 level. That said there was a much better turnout from the older girls and this will be vital as the League will now be decided on combined boys and girls results. There were many good performances with pbs from Hannah Lewis and Kerrie Craig at 100m and long jump as well as many others. With really too many events to single out winners, the events where we won both A and B were Hannah and Kiki at 100m and long jump, Mark and Niall as well as Sophie and Stacey at 800m and Glen and Michael at javelin. There were many others but there are loads of events and more athletes will be needed.
