Jonathan McGarvey won the handicap race from the Sportsplex to Ballygilbert and back on Monday evening, covering the 4.10 mile course in 28:16 minutes. John Monaghan and Shane Logan were next wih Kerry McCall the first woman. The fastest net time was a new course record of 25:40 min from Thomas Simpson with Marcus McAuley and Simon Cummings running 26:48 and 26:55 min. Debbie Matchett was the fastest woman in a net time of 27:38 min, also a record with Kerry next on 28:31 min. Brian Smith was fastest vet in a net 27:06 min, a second outside Norman Wilson"s 2006 time. The course distance has now been standardised at 4.10 miles and confirmed by the several satellite navigation systems in use.
