Jeremy Harper left Antrim on Saturday afternoon before the Senior Championships ended to catch the Edinburgh flight in order to compete in the Scottish U23 Championships at Meadowbank on Sunday. He finished runner-up in both shot and discus. In the discus he threw 49.32m to extend his day-old pb and club record. With his throwing hand painful he took just one attempt at shot, putting 13.20m. He will throw again this weekend at the AAA U23 Championships where, in his current form, he could well pass the 50m mark.
