Dennis and Stephen Flying in Omagh Half Marathon / 100th parkrun at Victoria Pk

The half marathon season finally got into gear on Saturday when the Omagh Half Marathon took place in ideal if cold conditions. A huge field of 1500 plus runners finished and there was a course record of 64:46 by winner Stephen Scullion. There were good times from the North Down AC contingent, headed  by superb 8^th  and 10^th  places from Dennis Scott and  Stephen Wylie in  75:17 and  75:24 min  Both on great form, they carried on as they ended  Queens 5K on Wednesday..  Nikki Heywood ran 1:40:21, Michael Jenkins 1:45:33 and Pat O’Driscoll 2:05:38.

Victoria Park

It was party time at Victoria Park as Orangegrove AC celebrated the delayed 100^th parkrun at the Bangor. North Down AC athletes joined in the celebrations with 13 athletes, Tony Wall and Steve Wise leading  them in and Marie Devine, who had yet another pb, was the first of the ladies. Several of the younger girls continued to make use of the parkrun system.
