There were more downpours together with thunder at Tullamore for the Under 20 and Under 23 Championships but the wind speeds were legal. Amy Foster had a sprint double and Jeremy Harper had a weights treble. Amy won the Under 20 100m in 12.01 secs into a headwind of (-1.3) and the 200m in 24.03 sec (0.0). The 200m time is a club record and is well inside the qualifying time for the European Junior Championships in Hengelo while of course she already has the time for 100m from the Nortgern Ireland Championships. Jeremy won the Under 23 shot with 12.39m, the discus with 47.72m and the 35 lb weight for distance with 9.79m.
For Jeremy it was the second meeting of the weekend after competing at Eton in Div 1 of the British Athletics League for Windsor, Slough , Eton and Hounslow. He was 2nd in the “A” discus with 49.70m, 5th in the “A” javelin with 52.41m and 5th in the “A” shot with 13.56m helping WSEH to win the round.
