Silver for Hannah

Hannah Lewis was second in Coventry at the UK Schools Games, equalling her pb and with a seasons best of 5.78m (+0.5),  2cms behind English Schools Champion Laura Samuel of Leicester. Mark Pattersonran 1:59.52 min in the 800m for 5th in his heat but qualified for the final. Ben Reynolds vaulted 3.85m for 10th. Jenny Brown of Mid Ulster provided the only other Northern Ireland medal of the first day when she won the shot with 12.22m.Northern Ireland started Sunday with 3 more medals with Ciara Mageean winning 3000m in 9:51.06 min, Jason Harvey 2nd at high jump with 1.99m and Gaby McNally 3rd at hammer with 46.51m. Mark made the final of the 800m where he was 7th in 1:58.49 min while Gareth Irvine threw discus 38.92m for 8th.

Kiki Malomo Paris was 5th in the guest 100m and  with Hannah was in the 4 x 100m squad which won its heat and was 4th overall.

Hannah has now finished a season in which she consolidated her jumping by consistantly jumping in the 5.70″s in virtually all her major competitions, putting her in a dood position to kick on next season when she will be in a better position to harness the extra speed on the runway which she has acquired this summer..
