North Down hosted the second leg of the Country Parks Challenge on Wednesday evening over the Crawfordsburn 5K Trail. Paul Pollock (Abbey) again won in 15:43 min from Keith Purdy (Annadale) and Gareth Arnott (Willowfield). Francis Marsh headed a good club turnout and was 4th and first vet in 16:48 min with John Carlisle and Robin Brown well up. Kelly Reid (Lisburn) and Gladys Ganiel (Abbey) were sirst and second women with the North Down pair of Kerry Iveston and Stephanie Hambling next. Kerry got the U20 prize, Stephanie 1st F35, Debbie Matchett 1st F40 and Jill Dowie 2nd F35.The series concludes on Wednesday when CIYMS host their race In Redburn Park at 7.00 pm. Paul Pollock and Kerry Iveston head the series standings and the two Holywood residents must fancy their chances in Redburn. Paul Blaney, Turlough Donnelly, David O”Flaherty and Lee Maginess are next in the mens series with Stephanie Hambling, Jill Dowie, Ange Perrott and Helen McKeeman next in the womens series.
