The club will promote ameeting on Wednesday evening 3rd July for athletes of primary school age. Categirie will be P5, P6 and P7 – that is the primary school year they have just completed, not the one they will enter in the autumn. Going on the run, jump, throw principle, events will be 60m, 600m, long jump and discus (0.75 Kg). Registration will be from 6.30 pm with the first events at 7.00 pm. Any assistance from athletes, parents, coaches and others would be appreciated.
North Down AC now has a thriving membership in this age group under Nicky Wakefield and her capable team and we have been impressed by several other clubs moving in this direction. Also by how well as a whole, this age group has supported competitions in big numbers and this meeting can be regarded as a test run in primary school competition.
