The ANI National Senior Championships took place at Santry on Saturday and Sunday. Kathy Hetherington on Saturday was 3rd in the discus with 39.47m, only 6 cm behind 2nd but Clare Fitzgerald in 1st was 48.22m. Also 6 cms out of the medals, Alan Kennedy was 4th in the triple jumpwith 13.92m. In a white-hot 800m field, Michael Dyer did well to finish 2nd in the Saturday semi in 1:54.46 min. His time in Sunday’s final was similar with 1:54.88 min for 10th. Also on Sunday, a day that was considerably wetter, Laura Saulters was 6th at triple jump with 10.30m and Rachel Gibson ran 4:43.12 in the 1500m final for 11th. The womens 5K walk , which included Rebecca Collins was not included in the resultslink but Rebecca was 3rd in around 27 min, narrowly behind the silver medal position. Curtis Woods dropped down to 100m, winning his heat in 11.17 (-0.7) and 7th in the final in 11.14(-0.4).
