On Sunday the NI & Ulster Senior Novice Cross Country Championships along with the NI & Ulster ‘Uneven Age Group’ Championships. North Down was represented in the Novice Championships (don’t be fooled by the name, it’s a prestigious event with a strong pedigree) when Michael Dyer made a rare cross country appearance. He was was 7th in the 5K race in 20:04 min. Before that several club youngsters took part in the age group Championships which attracted large fields John McNally was 26th in the U13 boys race in 7:44 min and Craig McMeechan 16th in the U15 boys in 10:45. There were 2 in the U17 boys, Reece Simpson, 42nd in 17:16 and Ciaran Farren, 46th in 17:42. At U19, Corey Brown was 14th in 22:14 and Jamie McMeechan 20th in 22:55 in the boys race while Katie Moore in the girls race had the highest club placing with 4th in 16:15
