Congratulations to Mark Patterson who continues the club tradition by winning the prestigious AAI Waterford Crystal award for County Down for the 2007 track season. Each year, 32 such awards are presented, one per county, to the outstanding junior athletes throughout Ireland. The awards are to be made at a Special Presentation Dinner in the Arklow Bay Hotel at the end of March. Mark joins a select list of North Down AC previous winners which reads like a Roll of Honour and includes Alison Moffitt, Lisa Kane, Andrea Ramage, Roger Sexton, Darragh Murphy, Brendan McConville, Eva Massey, Tom Reynolds, Michael McConkey and most recently Jeremy Harper, Amy Foster and a year ago David Keys.
Mark will be training in Portugal from 15th to 22nd March with the AAI Junior Squad. He is also in the Northern Ireland team wich will take part in the 4Km Junior Race at the London Marathon.
