It was an 11.00 am start in Derry and it was teeming down but for those who couldn’t do the Malcolm Cup races, there was the North West Triangle Club 5K series on Sunday. In a very fast race at the sharp end, Rachel Gibson had a belter, winning the ladies race by 80 secs, running a 17:24 min pb and finishing 3rd overall. Five secs behind, Lloyd Hannigan was 5th overall in 17:29.

Pat O’Driscoll, who travelled to Waterford on his bus pass last week to run the half marathon in 2:22.34, celebrated his 66th birthday on Saturday with 1st over 60 in 58:37 at the Rudolph Ekstra 10K near Omagh.
