The Schools Combined Events Indoor International took place on Saturday in Glasgow at the Emirates Arena. This International is an annual event between England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales at Under 16 and Under 18 level. Sarah Connolly (Glenlola), the sole Northern Irish athlete, did very well, finishing 9th overall with 3191 points, a pb of 70. In a very close competition, a better 800m could have seen her finish 3rd. However Sarah’s over 16 Irish girls team won the team competition which has only happened once in 15 years
Her results were Shot 8.65m PB, 60m Hurdles 9.19 sec, LJ 5.27m, High Jump 1.63m, 800m 2.49.03 min. The hurdles, high jump and pentathlon results are all North Down club indoor records.
