Thomas Simpson, John McGarvey and Jessica Craig all were about half a minute faster over 5K than in the recent Queens "Round the River" race when the first of two University of Ulster Challenges took place at Jordanstown last night. Thomas was 38th in 18:18 min, John 53rd in 19:19 and Jessica was 5th woman and 1st Junior in 19:57, 66th overall.
There were 127 finishers in a race won by Paul Rowan in 15:19 from Andrew Doherty and Andrew McKee. Gladys Ganiel was fist woman in 17:49.
