Jordan Neil was the only McNeese State University medallist on the final day of the Southlands Conference with bronze in the 1500m, fractionally outside his pb in 3:52.69 min. Michael Dyer finished just outside the 800m medals with 4th in 1:53.25 min. NBH runner Stephen Scullion was 4th in the 1500m final in a pb of 3:54.28 min to add to his earlier 5th in the steeplechase.
The Northern Ireland contingent at McNeese State University have had some good recent performances but the workload increased as the ante went up at the Southlands Conference, held from Friday to Sunday in Huntsville, Texas. Leading the preliminary races for the Cowboys were Jordan and Michael . Jordan won his heat and was 2nd qualifier for the final in the 1500m with 3:56.76 min also qualified for the final at 800m in 1:55.33 min. Michael was a heat winner and posted 1:54.09 min to be 3rd qualifier for the 800m final. Stephen Scullion ran 3:57.70 min to qualify for the 1500m final and was 5th in the steeplechase final in 9:38.07 min.
