[Not a valid template]On Saturday, the annual Ballynahinch 10K took place, hosted by the local Lions. Condittions were warm and windy and there was a new hilly course over two laps. The North Down runners were grouped fairly closely with Nikki Heywood, 7th in the ladies race, a few places ahead of John McGarvey and Andrea Thompson. Lynne Kerr came next and was 1st in her category. Nikki was 3rd in her category with John and Andrea both 4th.
Brendan Teer was 1st male in 32.42 mins well clear of Paul Rowan in 33.36 mins andHeather Foley was 1st female in 38.09 mins. This is the only race where spectators are not permitted near the finish line which is inside the Montalto estate and it detracts from the atmosphere at the finish.
