Pete Glass could take satisfaction from his GB decathlon debut after competing in the U23 group of an international between GB, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands at Ashford. After being on course for 6700 pts, Pete finished 10th with 6471 in a good series marred only at the end by the explosive athlete’s nightmare, a slow 1500m. GB U23 lost the match to Netherlands by only 5 points on combined scores but were overall clear winners in the combined 4 category match (U20, U23, men and women).
